With a population of 8.3m people, Bangkok is one of the largest cities in the world. As the city grew over time, public transportation faced enormous challenges, mainly coming from the city’s unique layout and many deadends in Naval areas, so-called Sois.
To connect even those neighborhoods which are hard to reach by conventional transportation, a group of sailors founded the first Motorbike Taxi Club in 1981. Ever since then, they have been part of the metropolitan public transportation system and have grown to a number of more 90k drivers nowadays.
This longterm project takes you on a journey with Bangkok’s Motorbike taxi drivers, portraying their everyday life out on the busy streets.
